Beyond good and bad

Give up the idea of control.  Give up deciding what is “good” and “bad.” Be thankful, right now, for what is.  Learn as much as you can about everything.

Here’s my explanation of that: Resistance is futile.  That which you avoid must be faced.  Run away and it only becomes bigger.  Face it, and it gets smaller.  It is a normal human reaction to avoid pain.  But by not facing painful things, you don’t get rid of them.  You just delay dealing with them.

Yes, it is hard to face your fears.  Nobody wants to.  But strong people were those folks willing to try, step by step, to face what they were afraid of.  It is worth the effort.  It gets easier the more you do it.

Hate is another name for fear.  Face your fear.  Learn all about it.  Study it.  Then you will learn it isn’t what you thought it was.  Fear is often ignorance in disguise.  Learn as much as you can and the fear goes away. Nothing is ever what you think it is.

About betsybeadhead

Hello, and Welcome. My name is Betsy, and I like beads and prayers. Fortunately those two things are more related than I ever realized. You are invited to “like” my Facebook page titled “Betsy Beadhead” and thus see what I’m talking about in my posts when I try to explain something using beads rather than words. This whole thing started because of that. Then I couldn't figure out how to post pictures so I just started writing. I string together words the same way I string together beads, and both serve the same purpose. I work at a library, surrounded by ideas brushing up against each other. I draw, paint, and collage. I study world religions. In all these experiences I like combining different things and making new things, and stretching my understanding of what “is” and what “has to be.” You are welcome to share my posts - just please give credit where credit is due. I'm anti-censorship but I'm also anti-plagiarism.
